Meadows Community Services is proud to announce that Julio Mayorga will serve as its Executive Director. Julio’s life experiences and his journey in faith, together with his formal education and previous administrative background in the Milwaukee Public School System are ideal qualifications for his new role in guiding, developing and delivering services to their clients throughout the Northwest Suburbs.
Mr. Mayorga immigrated to the Chicago area with his mother in 1967 and began working immediately as a housekeeper at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. As there were no bilingual programs available in the public schools at that time, he learned to speak English with the help of a co-worker during their ride to and from work each day. Mr. Mayorga became a U.S. Citizen in 1994
Over the intervening years, Mr. Mayorga continued his formal education, earning a Diploma in Ministry from Hispanic Bible School and a Masters Degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. While pursuing his education, Mr. Mayorga also held jobs with several U.S. companies, including Motorola and Zenith Corporations, U.S. Steel and Signode Corporation.
Mr. Mayorga has served as Pastor at churches in Waukegan, IL and in Milwaukee, WI. In addition, he has served the Milwaukee Public School system as a Teacher Assistant, as an Administrator in the central Office of the District and as a High School Assistant Principal.
Meadows Community Services is located in the Meadows Baptist Church in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
